The Phone Doesn't Stop Ringing During Service. An Agent Can Take Some of It.
Booking a table, checking a to-go order, answering the same menu question twelve times a shift — useful work, but it pulls a host or a manager away from the room. We build agents that handle it against your actual reservation and POS systems, not a static FAQ.
What This Actually Looks Like Day to Day
Reservation & waitlist handling
A guest calls, texts or messages to book a table. The agent checks real availability in your reservation system, books or holds the slot, handles a reschedule, and sends waitlist updates — instead of a host running between the stand and the phone.
Order-ahead & takeout questions
The agent answers real menu questions from your actual menu data and can place a straightforward to-go order into the POS queue, flagging anything custom or allergy-sensitive for a person to confirm before it reaches the kitchen.
Review & feedback triage
After a visit, the agent reads incoming reviews and feedback messages, drafts a reasonable response, and flags anything indicating a real service or food-safety issue to a manager directly instead of auto-replying to it.
Multi-location question routing
For a small group, the agent handles the common "are you open" and "do you take walk-ins at the downtown location" questions, and routes shift-swap or scheduling messages to the right manager on duty.
Wired Into the Systems You Already Run
POS systems
Reads real menu and pricing data and places order-ahead items directly into the queue your kitchen already works from.
Reservation & waitlist platforms
Books, reschedules and updates guests against real availability, not a separately maintained calendar.
Review & messaging platforms
Reads incoming feedback and drafts responses where appropriate, flagging anything serious straight to a manager.
What Gets Escalated, and Why
A genuine allergy, a food-safety complaint, a large party or private-event request, or anything that needs a decision in the moment on the floor — all of it goes to a person. The agent handles the booking and messaging volume around service; it doesn't run service.
Where This Isn't a Fit Yet
Anything that needs a real-time judgement call on the floor — deciding to 86 a dish, recovering a bad table experience in the moment, adjusting a ticket mid-service — is not something an agent should be doing, and we'd say so on a scoping call rather than pitch around it. That's a person's job, and it should stay one.
Questions From Restaurants
Does the agent replace our host or front-of-house staff?
No. It handles the phone and message volume around bookings and questions so your host can focus on the room. Anything happening on the floor in real time stays with your team.
Can it actually check real table or slot availability?
Yes, when it's connected to your reservation or waitlist system directly. It books against real availability rather than guessing, and updates the same system your host stand already uses.
What about allergy or dietary questions?
The agent can answer from the ingredient and allergen information already in your menu system, but any request involving a real allergy or a custom modification gets flagged to a person to confirm before an order goes to the kitchen.
Do you connect to our POS and reservation platforms?
Very likely, if they expose an API. Tell us what you run on a discovery call and we'll say plainly whether it's straightforward or genuinely hard — see AI integrations.
Tell Us What the Phone Sounds Like During a Rush
Book a short call. We'll ask what the volume actually looks like and tell you plainly whether an agent is the right fix for it.
