What an Agent Costs, Priced by What It Has to Do

No bronze, silver and gold, and no per-seat licence. An agent is priced by its shape — how many systems it touches, and how much judgement it needs before it acts. Every figure here is indicative and in US dollars.

How to Read This Page

Three Shapes, Not Three Tiers

Almost every first build lands in one of these three. Find the one that sounds like your task, then read the section below on what moves it up or down.

Single-workflow agent

$6,000–$15,000 indicative

One task, one or two connected systems, typically 3 to 6 weeks.

  • One clearly defined job — answer, qualify, extract or route
  • Reads from one knowledge source, writes to one system
  • Straightforward escalation rule — unsure, hand off
  • Testing, logging and launch included

Complex or multi-agent

$40,000+ indicative

Several coordinating agents or a high-stakes domain. From 12 weeks.

  • Multiple agents handing work to each other
  • Regulated or financially sensitive decisions
  • Custom evaluation and monitoring tooling
  • Usually phased, starting with a paid discovery
Multi-Agent Systems

Indicative bands, not a price list. They exist so you can tell whether your task is an $8,000 conversation or a $60,000 one. Nothing on this page is a quote, and none of it is confirmed until after a discovery call.

What's Not in the Build Price

Two Costs Continue After Launch

Building the agent is a project fee. Running it has ongoing costs, and we'd rather you know that before you commit than discover it on the first invoice.

Model & API Usage

The underlying AI provider bills directly for the compute the agent uses, and that scales with how often the agent runs. We estimate this during scoping based on your expected volume and design the agent to use it efficiently, but the bill itself goes to you, not through us as a markup.

Ongoing Support

Systems change, edge cases surface, and an agent left unmaintained drifts out of date quietly. A support retainer covers monitoring, fixes and adjustments as your tools or requirements shift. Scope and price for this are set once we know what the agent looks like.

Frequently Asked

Pricing Questions

Why is there no fixed price list?

Because two agent requests that sound identical on a call can differ by a factor of three once you know what sits behind them. A support agent answering from a single help-centre article is a straightforward build. The same support agent updating a CRM, checking order status in a separate system, and deciding when to escalate is a different project wearing the same name. The bands above exist so you can tell within a minute which conversation you're having.

What actually drives the price up?

Mostly the number of systems the agent has to read from and write to, and how much judgement it needs before acting. An agent that only answers from a knowledge base is simple. One that decides whether to issue a refund, escalate a case, or route a lead needs careful boundary design, testing against edge cases, and usually a human-in-the-loop step for anything high-stakes.

Is this a subscription or a one-time build?

Both apply, for different things. The build is typically a fixed project fee once scoped. Running the agent afterwards has ongoing costs — our support retainer, plus the model/API usage costs billed directly by whichever provider the agent runs on. We show you that math before you commit, not after.

When does an estimate become an actual quote?

After discovery, never before. The bands above are indicative ranges meant to show the order of magnitude. A quote is a written scope naming the systems involved, the decision boundaries, what counts as done, and what is excluded, and it follows a discovery call.

What if our budget is smaller than the bottom band?

Say so on the call and we'll be straight with you. Sometimes the honest answer is to narrow version one to a single, well-defined step rather than the whole workflow. Sometimes the honest answer is that the task doesn't need a custom agent yet — a simpler rule-based automation covers it for a fraction of the cost.
